We have an awesome team behind the scenes at CTN, including a rockstar board. We are so grateful for the support and guidance they provide. Let’s get to know them.

Mike joined our board 2 years ago, but started coming to CTN events and fundraisers over 10 years ago by invitation from his brother in law who was involved. Once he learned what CTN Was all about, he knew he had to get involved. He was surprised by how great the community need for reliable transportation is.

When did you begin volunteering for CTN and why?

Tough one, my brother-in-law, Joe Wolfcale was involved several years ago and started inviting Kim and I to the fundraisers. That was 8 to 10 years ago when I first heard about it. This is my second year as a board member. Once I got to learn more about CTN’s mission, it was a worthy cause to support. It is one that is not in the spotlight enough.

Why is the work CTN does important to the community?

Simply helping people with rides to important places such as work, doctor appointments who otherwise would not have the ability to get to these places. It is important for the individuals in need, the employers, and the community as a whole.

What were you surprised to learn about CTN when you first got involved?

I was surprised at how great the need was in our community. When you hear the number of households in Allen County without cars or a means of transportation, it is an eye-opener. I love the fact that the CTN people are so dedicated to their work and mission.

Do you have a favorite memory from your time with CTN?

The events are fun, the Gala, brew tour, etc. I enjoy the brew tour with friends and family and being able to introduce them to CTN. I really cannot think of one memory that stands out.

How does CTN impact its riders?

You must hear testimonials of riders and how important this service is to them to understand the impact that it has on their lives. Once you hear how heavily they depend on CTN for doctors’ appointments, rides to work or simply just to get out of their home where they would otherwise be confined to makes you understand how important it is for the CTN’s riders. When I hear a story from a rider or Justin, I immediately put myself in that position and can understand how important the service is that CCTN provides. We take these things for granted.
