We have an awesome team behind the scenes at CTN, including a rockstar board. We are so grateful for the support and guidance they provide. Let’s get to know them.

David joined our board in 2018 as an intern through Leadership Fort Wayne and servied as our board president from 2021-23. Like most, he initially thought a majority of trips provided were medical related trips. He quickly learned that the largest population served are children and young adults through partnerships with schools and after care programs. In addition, CTN partners with over 80 other non profit organizations throughout the city, offering transportation for the clients that they serve.

When did you begin volunteering for CTN and why?  I served as a board intern for CTN during my time in Leadership Fort Wayne in 2018.  I clearly didn’t understand the full scope of the need or the work that was being done within the Organization but I knew that transportation was a key centerpiece to most of the initiatives being discussed throughout the community.

Why is the work CTN does important to the community?  It’s hard to identify any one initiative that our community has identified or supported that success isn’t predicated on the availability of safe, reliable transportation.  Food scarcity, work accessibility, health and wellbeing are just a few examples of key initiatives that are dependent on reliable transportation in order to make impactful change for the population being served.

Do you have a favorite memory from your time with CTN?  It’s hard to narrow down to one but the memory that stands out to me was the grand opening of the second facility in New Haven.  This was investment that allowed the Organization to expand it’s coverage, create efficiencies and set a foundation for growth at a regional level.

How does CTN impact its riders?  Simply put, CTN allows individuals the freedom and independence to pursue a fulfilling life!
